1994 Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Description

Fact Sheet

100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the lime, clay soil of Lot 3 in the La Pirámide vineyard. The 1995 growing season was even cooler than 1994, with average temperatures during the important ripening month of March reaching 18.1° C, a full 1.4° C lower than the year before. The cooler conditions allowed for a slower, more gradual ripening process, ensuring excellent aromatic structure with ripe, fresh fruit concentration and soft, sweet tannins. This vintage can be enjoyed now and will continue to improve over the next 4 to 5 years.

Winemaker's Notes

The 1994 Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark, opaque ruby red color. The wine presents aromas of wild red berry fruit flavors with a touch of mint, toast and tobacco.  The mouth feel is full yet soft, with rich black raspberry and red currant flavors and notes of sweet spice, chocolate, and vanilla. This wine offers a long, lingering finish dominated by smooth, silky tannins.
