Catena Zapata Estiba Reservada

WINE DESCRIPTION

The project began in the early 1980s with the selection of the best mountain vineyard sites and the most suitable clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, all designed to produce a wine that could rival the most prestigious of the world.

Extensive research and investigation led to the development of exceptional vineyards, giving birth to Catena Zapata. The grapes, sourced from the Agrelo vineyard, planted at 3117 ft at the foot of the Andes, enjoy a wide thermal amplitude of sunny days and cool nights, ensuring a high concentration of flavors and aromas, as well as the tannic structure necessary for long term aging.

Catena Zapata Estiba Reservada has a deep violet colour with red ruby hues. The nose is intense, with complex cedar, ripe red cassis, tobacco and sweet spice. On the palate, a sweet, soft entry leads to a rich wine packed with red fruit and subtle black pepper and eucalyptus flavours. Finishes long and elegant with round, silky tannins.
